A great example of good riverfront development is happening in Blue Island. There is a core residential community of 384 residences on a pennisula surrounded by 1-1/2 miles of riverfront boardwalks and trails, with best management practices being employed for stormwater management, natvie plantings and wetland restoration, boat slips and canoe landings. The site is call Fay's Point and is at the confluence of the Little Calumet River and the Cal-Sag channel
